But here’s where it gets especially interesting: while Selected Tobacco is known for aging cigars in cedar-lined rooms for years—carefully adjusting humidity along the way—the Extra Añejo line goes a step further, finishing its journey in French Oak for a total of five years of aging. That extra step adds a whole new layer of refinement, a technique also seen in the Byron 1850 line introduced at PCA 2022. The cigars in this release began their aging journey back in 2017, meaning every draw is a carefully orchestrated experience years in the making—rich, deliberate, and unapologetically luxurious.
