With Alfonso, things are taken to an entirely new level of luxury, where ultra-premium craftsmanship meets jaw-dropping presentation and, most importantly, time—lots of it. The debut line, Alfonso Extra Añejo, wears its name proudly (“Añejo” meaning aged), and it delivers on that promise with remarkable dedication, including the elegant No. 2 vitola. But here’s where it gets especially interesting: while Selected Tobacco is known for aging cigars in cedar-lined rooms for years—carefully adjusting humidity along the way—the Extra Añejo line goes a step further, finishing its journey in French Oak for a total of five years of aging. That extra step adds a whole new layer of refinement, a technique also seen in the Byron 1850 line introduced at PCA 2022. The cigars in this release began their aging journey back in 2017, meaning every draw is a carefully orchestrated experience years in the making—rich, deliberate, and unapologetically luxurious.
