Description: Steeped in more than a century of cigar-making heritage, the Cuesta-Rey Cabinet No. 95 stands as a timeless symbol of craftsmanship, resilience, and innovation. Founded in 1884 by Ángel LaMadrid Cuesta and Peregrino Rey, the Cuesta-Rey brand became a cornerstone of Tampa’s cigar legacy—earning its place under the iconic “Home of Cuesta-Rey Cigars” sign that still shines above our historic El Reloj factory today.
In 1958, J.C. Newman’s son, Stanford Newman, carried the family legacy forward by acquiring the Cuesta-Rey brand, preserving one of the most storied names in cigar history. When the Cuban embargo of 1961 disrupted access to traditional Cuban tobacco, Stanford’s pursuit of excellence led him to African Cameroon leaf—an extraordinary discovery that forever changed the cigar industry.
The Cuesta-Rey No. 95 became the first cigar in the United States to feature a Cameroon wrapper, delivering a refined and complex flavor once thought lost to history. This pioneering blend not only revitalized the premium cigar world but also cemented Cuesta-Rey’s reputation as a brand synonymous with quality and innovation.
Today, every Cuesta-Rey cigar is handcrafted by the renowned Arturo Fuente Cigar Company at Tabacalera A. Fuente in the Dominican Republic, ensuring each No. 95 continues the proud legacy of tradition, craftsmanship, and flavor that began in Tampa over 125 years ago.
Experience the cigar that helped shape an industry — the legendary Cuesta-Rey Cabinet No. 95.
